Divination friendly Diet

The definition of divination as stated in the Merriam-Webster is:
: the art or practice that seeks to foresee or foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge usually by the interpretation of omens or by the aid of supernatural powers
: unusual insight : intuitive perception
but what is this "supernatural power"?
To put it simply: our ability to tap into our psychic selves through the many types of divination (here is a link to a site that defines 163 types of divination ). I believe that everyone is a little psychic in some form or another...we're all born that way, whether or not we choose to acknowledge is up to the individual...I also believe, that as we age, we are taught to ignore that inner feeling, and a gap forms in our minds, forcing said psychism to become cloudy and unfocused. Using the notion "You are what you eat", I've put together a list of  foods, herbs, and spices, long thought of as psychic inducing. Notice most of the food choices are plant based. The reason being, that red meat tends to desensitize psychic abilities, it's heavy and grounding.

So feel free to add a few or all of the above mentioned psychic inducing foods...but don't skip on the leg work...practice the tarot ,or scrying or some other form of divination and mental exercises. You can even attend a class or pick up some books (good knowing look...not the ravings of some mad lunatic). Hope y'all enjoyed this installment of the Pagan Blog Project...

Here is a few recipes to get you started

Dandelion tea
When picking the leaves for this tea pick the young tender ones clean thoroughly...
For a pot of tea
1 cup boiling water for each person
1 teaspoon dried dandelion leaves for each person
Cover and let steep 3 minutes. Stir and let steep another minute.

Individual portion
1 cup boiling water to
1 teaspoon dried dandelion leaves

Dandelion roots also make great tea, especially if you dry, grind, and roast the roots.

How to make sprouted bread link:

  1. I agree that red meat makes you feel weighed down and desensitizes you, but I find that for me, basically all kinds of meat and fish have that effect. When I transitioned from meat-eater to vegetarian, I felt much more in tune with myself and nature on those days that I didn't eat meat.

Also, I'd add fennel to the list of helpful foods, either in tea form or as a whole vegetable.

    1. I'm envious of your ability to kick the meat habit...try as I might, it just won't happen. I notice that I'm overly empathetic when I try to eat a vegan diet. Too much sensory imput...Plus I couldn't go very long without BACON. Thanks for the feedback on this post. Curious though about fennel. When doing the legwork for this post I found that fennel was uses mainly as a protection/purification/healing herb. I think I'll use fennel in some dishes and see what happens.

    2. I really wonder what it is about bacon - a friend of mine has said exactly the same thing^^

  2. Great post, you have pointed out some superb details, I will tell my friends that this is a very informative blog thanks.
